Natural Remedies for Sun-Burn

We all know the dangers of spending too much time out in the sun and yet we still do it. We know that our children's skins should be protected from the harsh rays and yet we often forget to top up that suntan lotion. Sensitive skin too should be protected much more readily as it does not take much exposure to burn it.

When our skin does become burned we are reminded of our own carelessness and recklessness. The redness varies of course depending on our skin type, whether we had any skin care protection and how long we were exposed to the suns rays.

Apart from damaging the skin on our bodies, too much exposure to the sun is hugely damaging for the skin on our faces and this can lead to premature aging and wrinkles.

Covering our skin up is important and there are a multitude of sun tan lotions and after-sun creams which are available over the counter, however there are also many sun burn and sun care recipes which can be made from natural products available at home such as:

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera works wonderfully with many skin conditions and it is renowned for alleviating the heat and pain of sun burn. Try keeping the Aloe Vera plant at home or purchase the gel from health shops.

Natural Yoghurt

Natural Yoghurt helps to ease the heat from burned skin, the yoghurt should be washed off with cool water afterwards.

Tea Bags

If eyelids are sore and burned, place cold, used tea-bags directly onto the eyelids and it will relieve any swelling and pain.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is useful for many home natural treatments but it can be added undiluted directly to areas of sunburn.

Cucumber Sunburn Treatment

Squeeze all of the juice from a cucumber and mix with Rose -Water and Glycerine and apply to the burned skin for relief.

Lavender Essential Oil

Apply Lavender essential oil directly to the sunburn for quick relief from the pain

Meditation

Meditation can be used very effectively for boosting inner healing. The practitioner simply imagines a healing light pouring over areas of the body which needs relief and in time, the images become so vibrant that the body naturally starts to self-heal.
